“…that no child from our community should be denied a college education simply for the lack of financial resources.
YOU can change the world by helping Fredericksburg High School graduates obtain a post high school education. The FAB Scholarship Fund supports highly motivated local students who would be unlikely to complete a program without financial aid. We want students to avoid high student debt from attending college or trade school.
Last year’s awards boosted the number of FHS graduates assisted by the Fund to 116 students over the life of the program. We are supporting 23 students this year through the program. Through a reapplication process, awardees may have their scholarship continued throughout a four year program. The possible number of scholarships for the next school year depends solely on the generosity of the Fund’s supporters in this grassroots fundraising effort.
In the application process, students must show:
1. FINANCIAL NEED
2. THE ABILITY TO PERFORM AT A HIGHER LEVEL.
3. THE FOCUS AND STRONG DESIRE TO DO SO.
Each Student awarded a scholarship is assigned a local mentor to encourage and assist with problems should the need arise. Each student must maintain full-time college status and a 2.5 grade point average.
