Are you ready to make a difference in our community?
Please join us at Mentoring Orientation Thursday, Sept 17 at 11am. It is held at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church Fellowship Hall. RSVP to your coordinator or email Lori at [email protected].
Being a mentor will have a huge impact on the student, his family and friends and our community! The time and effort you put into your student can have astronomical effects on many many people as your student grows up, has a family and in turn will be a better spouse, parent, friend, etc! Mentoring is important!
Mentoring Handbook
This handbook gives the nuts and bolts of mentoring. Download or get a paper copy at one of the campuses.
Our Fabulous Coordinators this year are: Tiffany Neilsen (Stonewall Elementary), Carrie Watson (FHS), Juli Bahlinger (OTTER at FPS), Dede Lange (FMS), Diana Phillips & Karen Vanek (FES),
Become a mentor!
“A mentor is someone who allows you to see the hope inside yourself.” — Oprah Winfrey
The pandemic has been really hard on everyone and student mental health issues are more common and more severe than ever. Having a trusted adult to talk to and get support from is one thing that we can do to make a difference. Contact Lori McClellan, FAB administrator at [email protected] for more information.
Waiting Lists
Our program is only limited by the number of volunteers available. We don't add students to the program unless we have mentors available. Currently, we have 25 students on the waiting list! Would you donate an hour of your time once a week to make a difference in the life of a Gillespie county student?
In changing student's lives, you also impact the entire family's life!
FAB functions primarily with the generous support of FISD. We also rely on donations from the community. You may donate in memory or honor of a loved one or pay your yearly or lifetime dues! You may donate to the Scholarship Fund or to the Operational Fund (Mentoring/OTTER Program),
